Introduction
Headquartered at Hilden, Germany, the brand is a chemical manufacturing enterprise supplying high-performance industrial resins and other similar consumables. The company operates from multiple locations across the globe, including Pune in India.
Their foundry division delivers binders, coatings, risers, filters, and release agents globally. It also supplies metallurgical products such as inoculants, inoculation wires and master alloys for iron casting. The industrial resins division is a leader in the specialty phenolic resins domain that are used for fire protection, energy consumption, service lifetime, health and safety at work.
The company faced continuous voice quality issues over their telephone lines as well as frequent downtime with data connectivity, leading them to seek a new service provider. The team approached Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) after having reviewed the features of primary rate interface (PRI) lines and Smart Internet – the internet leased line (ILL). The subscription plans and service level agreement (SLA) terms also suited their business policies.
Business Challenges
The organisation’s Pune office routinely handled a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls while coordinating with global work locations. It sought an enterprise-grade telephony solution as the existing phone lines were resulting in huge phone bills for international calls and when they were routed through cloud applications, the voice quality was affected by jitter.
To establish an effective system for audio – video communication and ensure seamless functioning of business applications relying on data service, the company needed a scalable telephone line and dedicated internet solution.
Switchover to a new service provider was mandated largely by three requirements:
- Productivity was getting affected by unpredictable broadband downtime and it was therefore necessary to upgrade to a more reliable connection backed by service level agreement (SLA).

TTBS Solution
Our solution architects deployed Smart Internet and PRI phone channels at the company’s office. While configuring the voice solution, we built upon the telephony baseline that was already available at the premises. The deployment for both the solutions was completed within the timeline promised to the customer
There was a noticeable improvement in voice quality after the installation of PRI channels. And as fibre-optic based Smart Internet gave uncontended data service to the organisation, it could also use voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) applications with better audio-video quality while conferencing online.
