Introduction

Headquartered in Bangalore, the organisation is a not-for-profit entity working for the underprivileged people in Indian societies. It runs community transformation programs and special projects for women and children with a mission to empower individuals and families for self-sustainability.

The NGO also provides healthcare services to the poor and regularly conducts free medical and vision check-ups in different parts of the country. The camps and clinic services enable patients to receive treatments, medicines and eyeglasses for free.

Other activities include digging borewells and installing handpumps for clean water supply, providing stationery, sports gear and toys to students, and distributing blankets, raincoats and clothes in communities as per changing weather conditions. As the NGO widened its scale of activities, covering more and more regions for charity services, it needed an online meeting platform to help its teams collaborate more effectively.

While today’s market is full of free and paid versions of video conferencing services, the organisation chose to adopt Zoom – globally popular software trusted by several institutions. Business Challenges

The Bangalore-based NGO had been doing a commendable job, fulfilling the education, healthcare and employment needs of poor communities. It had started multiple centres to facilitate such work and it was necessary to keep the projects coordinated to consistently meet the outlined objectives.

Zoom enabled meeting managers to record any session with a single click and store the clips in the application’s Cloud platform so that participants and those who missed the session could directly access them without waiting for emails containing heavy attachments.

Conference organisers had the privilege to reinforce in-meeting security with password/PIN protection, waiting rooms and domain restrictions. They could also lock confidential meetings and expel or put some attendees on hold if required.

All communications were encrypted and the NGO could upgrade its plan easily for more users in the future. Under the Service-Level Agreement (SLA) provided by TTBS, uptime of more than 99% was guaranteed.
