Overview

The customer is a Chhattisgarh-based agro manufacturing enterprise and a leading supplier, distributor and trading company for cereal, fruit and vegetable crops. The company maintains several facilities for its business operations, including state-of-the-art laboratories, greenhouses, net-houses and cold storage plants.

The organisation also has its research centres at 30 locations across geographies, employing a huge sales team that performs field visits and works closely with farmers.

Business Challenge

The customer was grappling with challenges in real-time tracking of its workforce and ensuring that the employees have reached their designated fields.

The customer’s legacy monitoring process had proved largely ineffective – the employees uploaded their pictures on location every time they visited a farm/field and shared the images through consumer-grade messaging apps. Collecting and storing data on employee productivity for future reference was conceivably troublesome.

The organisation also had to track the total distance travelled for job duties by each field employee.

They did not want to invest in an additional team for manual data collection of the field force

Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) made it simpler to collect data from employees by offering an IoT workforce tracking solution. This GPS-based tool enabled the company to get accurate reports for the distance travelled by each worker.

With the “Mark my Location” feature on the associated portal, employees could also upload their pictures to show their presence in the field assigned to them.

The company got the employees’ true location each time they marked their attendance via the workforce management system.

The company now had access to daily, weekly and monthly attendance reports along with the total productive hours.
