Introduction

Offering an insurtech platform, the company helps its customers to identify the best insurance policies as per their individual requirements. It maintains an informative website and mobile application to guide people through the online purchase of vehicle, health and life insurance policies.

The organisation’s mission is to bring complete transparency to insurance-related transactions by providing all possible details that a buyer may need before signing up for a policy or policy renewal. It has invested in evolved technologies to disrupt the insurance products commercial space that carries over $100 billion opportunity. The team combines research with engineering, design and operational excellence to build engaging customer experiences.

As its workload increased, the company needed faster data service and more bandwidth to handle routine operations proficiently. It did not want undue latency, jitter and packet loss to affect the processes.

The company was happy with its earlier subscription of Primary Rate Interface (PRI) and Session Initiating Protocol (SIP) Trunk-based voice services, as well as the toll-free number solution from Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS), and the experience that the brand had provided. The next requirement was to get an Internet Leased Line (ILL) for better uptime and digital network performance.

Business Challenges

The company’s operations are primarily digital and the cloud applications it used demanded significant bandwidth. It was also running a 500-seater Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) with PRI and Internet Protocol (IP) telephony setup to handle the constant flow of customer inquiries.

To manage such myriad aspects of its internal operations and customer service, it needed a new ILL solution. The data connectivity channel had to offer better speed for both downloads and uploads. For efficient business continuity, required high uptime backed by a Service-Level Agreement (SLA). Some other features required were:

  • Ability to support multiple applications, including voice and video
  • Adequate visibility for network performance
  • Reasonable degree of security to thwart the risks of cyber attacks

The insurtech enterprise also specified that it wanted a quick and hassle-free configuration. Having experienced the pre and post-sale services provided by TTBS for around 5 years, it knew that Tata would again be the right choice to get the ILL connection.

Serving an existing customer with a new solution was a matter of pride for TTBS. Thanks to our long-standing association with the organisation, we were already familiar with their IT infrastructure.

Our solution architects configured Smart Internet leased line solution, in a turnaround time less than what was communicated to the client. We also ensured its flawless integration with the SIP Trunk and other digital systems.

Although the SLA-backed uptime of our Smart Internet solution was already more than 99%, we fortified the new connection further with a backup line so that the company’s operations were always up and running even if the primary line was affected by a technical issue for a few seconds.

TTBS Smart Internet came with 1:1 symmetric download and upload speeds to deliver optimum user experience with all applications.

The connection also met the company’s expectations on other fronts:

  • With its high speed and uptime, it enabled bandwidth-hungry applications to run smoothly with the lowest levels of latency and jitter.
  • The web-based iManage portal became a user-friendly medium to view network performance at any time and check the data consumption of individual applications.
  • Smart Internet brought its own security attributes for continuous and real-time protection from cyber threats including zero-day attacks.

As the company had expected, our ILL configuration was smooth and unintrusive for business operations. TTBS continues to provide round-the-clock support for any technical queries. Troubleshooting, in a rare case of a downtime issue, is provided within the meantime-to-resolve documented in the SLA.
