Global Conferencing Solution Provider Boosts Operational Efficiency with a Dedicated Data Service on TTBS Smart Internet
Introduction
The organisation provides premium global audio conferencing, video conferencing, audio-video media streaming, and digital collaboration tools to businesses. It specifically caters to legal and telemedicine domains.
Known for customising its solutions based on clients’ needs, including short-notice conferences, the company has earned the respect and trust of its global clients for its quality of service and cultural sensitivity.
It is headquartered in Monroeville, Pennsylvania (USA), and has several business locations worldwide, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and India.
One of the Indian offices - based in Mumbai - was unhappy with its internet services and contemplated subscribing to leased line service. Tata Tele Business Services has a fibre optic network spanning more than 1,32,000 km in India, with a presence in more than 60 cities, including the commercial capital of India. TTBS fuels data connectivity for businesses of all sizes with its SLA-backed solutions. Encouraged by these factors, the company chose TTBS to configure an Internet Leased Line (ILL) solution for their operations.
Business Challenges
Using a basic broadband service for digital operations in its office, the company had been facing several problems. The internet speed was not sufficient to support mission-critical cloud applications. Also, the last-mile connectivity was impacted by downtime issues frequently.
The company had over 100 employees working from its office, and while it was willing to pay more than the standard broadband rental amount, it expected significantly better services from a new enterprise-grade data solution. The key expectations were:
- High uptime assurance documented in an end-to-end SLA and reliable redundancy for network connectivity
- Symmetric upload and download speed for ease of using bandwidthhungry apps
- Cost-effective scalability and on-demand internet bandwidth
The company needed a secure and private leased line exclusively for its team, with the bandwidth not being shared with other users in the vicinity.
TTBS Solution
To address the organisation’s needs TTBS offered its enterprise ILL service - an uncontended point-to-point connection - between the service provider (TTBS) and the customer’s location. It was called Smart Internet.
TTBS engineers configured the Smart Internet service with dual last mile connectivity featuring active-passive failover. They terminated both the links on a single router to avoid the costs of an additional router.
For further cost-control without compromising on the usability of the connection, TTBS provided a passive last mile (secondary link) with a bandwidth that was half of the primary link’s bandwidth. With this arrangement, the team could access all its critical applications even when the active link was affected by a temporary outage. To avoid any IP switchover at the LAN part, TTBS offered a single static IP pool.
Smart Internet improved the data service and met the company’s expectations on different fronts:
- The service uptime was committed at 99.5%, with a comprehensive SLA that also guaranteed round-the-clock support of the technical helpdesk.
- With the deployment of active-passive links, network redundancy was also assured for continued usage of critical applications, even if the primary line was affected by a short-term outage.
- Smart Internet offered 1:1 symmetric downstream and upstream speed, ensuring that data downloads were as quick and efficient as uploads in any digital process.
- Bandwidth scalability came with minimum processing time – this could be permanent, temporary, or scheduled as per the customer’s requirements.
Being a point-to-point connection, Smart Internet offered uncontended service. Its bandwidth was exclusively for the company that had subscribed to it and could not be accessed or used by any other user in the neighbourhood.
This internet-leased line also came with managed features to secure the network from malicious content and other cyber threats.
Bundled with Cisco DNS cloud security, and ease of network management through a DIY web portal, Smart Internet Leased Line is a dedicated data service for enterprises that routinely use cloud apps and cannot afford any laxity in their digital connectivity.
Benefits
- Web Conferencing: Symmetric bandwidth with high upload and download speeds even when multiple apps were used simultaneously
- More secure internet service guarded by Cisco DNS cloud security
- Maximum uptime guaranteed by an SLA and auto-failover capabilities
- Real-time network visibility into performance, bandwidth consumption, and the cyber threats blocked
- Enhanced customer experience resulting from more active and secure operations
