Having its research & development centre headquartered at Bengaluru, the company is a Korean designer and supplier of automotive electronic parts and autonomous driving solutions. Its product range entails car radars, 3D scanning LiDAR, brake ECU, drive assistance systems, wheel speed sensors, and high resolution cameras to capture vehicle movement.

Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) got an opportunity to serve the organisation when it needed to replace its disk-based methods for data transfer with a highspeed online connectivity solution. The procurement manager approached us for our internet leased line (ILL) - called Smart Internet – after a demonstration of its features.

Business Challenges
As a part of its operations, the company had to use hard disks to store high volumes of data that comprised videos and images of vehicle movement captured from cameras and sensors. The team then had to download the data to its own servers in Bengaluru, create a copy of the same on another disk, and send it to its overseas office by air.
It was not easy to manage such legacy methodologies as considerable funds were spent on buying hard disks to collect around 30 TB of data. The company had to purchase more than 500 hard disks on a monthly basis, and the expenses to send them abroad - that also included custom duties - were significant.
These challenges were to be addressed using a dedicated internet service. The top priorities while choosing a solution to handle business-critical data were:

With an ILL providing uncontended digital connectivity, it became easier to transfer the same data online. The company could now save on the costs it had been bearing to send data via hard disks.
