Introduction
Our customer operates a chain of hypermarkets and retail stores selling home appliances in southern India. By offering a rich shopping environment and aftersales support, the company has earned a leading position in its market.
Business Challenges
When the organisation started its online services for sales of consumer goods, it confronted a new set of business challenges. It had to continue delivering reliable customer service but could not afford to manage a complex back-end technology infrastructure.
It was critical to keep a high uptime and well-defined delivery norms under a service level agreement (SLA) for online services while also ensuring connectivity for remote locations. All store branches were to be brought on a secure common network to coordinate sales and inventory management.
TTBS Solution
- TTBS evaluated the company’s needs and recommended, enterprise-grade MPLS VPN technology to link their 29 branch locations.
- The proposed network topology for this project was hub to spoke.
- We used 10 MBPS connection and configured the network over UBR as a last-mile solution.
- With in this system, all branches could access the hub with 4/6/10 MBPS of spoke band width, with the spoke locations getting 2MBPS wireless last-mile connectivity.
- To ensure best-in- class security for the network on a dedicated private route, we used generic routing encapsulation (GRE) for the encryption mechanism.
- The customer provided the LANIP pool for all store branches and also facilitated router installation at store premises.
- As a managed MPLS VPN solution, TTBS, installed and maintained the customer premises equipment (CPE) routers as per bandwidth finalisation.
