Introduction

The customer is an IT company developing high-quality software solutions for end-to-end road toll management. Its core services include the design, deployment, integration and maintenance of electronic toll collection (ETC) systems. With a decade of experience in the transportation transaction and mobility industry, the organisation serves its client base in North America, Europe and India.

With a presence across continents, the enterprise wanted its teams to stay connected on an online collaboration platform for more inclusive meetings. It needed a secure conferencing software with high uptime and easy-to-use features for video chats, voice calls and text messaging.

Zoom is the video conferencing app of choice around the world and Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) has partnered with Zoom Video Communications in India to offer SLA-backed communication solutions to businesses of all sizes. Business Challenges

The idea of implementing an online collaboration solution with expensive hardware and legacy technologies can be overwhelming. And while there are quite a few apps to manage communications on the cloud, choosing the most suit able one with features that help in the long-term can be difficult.

As their international presence expanded, the customer wanted to:

  • Manage its distributed work force, connecting the teams for maximum productivity and expediting decisions without depending on travel
  • Minimise complexities in meeting rooms and provide a secure experience to all participants through user authentication and encrypted communication
  • Own a handy and reliable audio-conferencing service that could be costeffectively used for national and international calls with clear voice quality

Scalability and keeping up with evolving digital technologies were other factors to consider. It was not easy to predict the kind of conferencing capabilities the organisation would need in the near future. It was, therefore, preferable to use a tool that would automatically absorb the latest updates and be easy to scale.

TTBS Solution

To provide the customer with a cloud video conferencing solution that could address their requirements and was simple to use on any device, TTBS configured Zoom for their teams.

  • The application became a unified video conferencing solution with built-in collaboration tools for frictionless meeting experiences. It allowed the enterprise to host online events with upto 100 interactive video participants and 10,000+ attendees.
  • All meetings were protected with multiple security layers including end-to-end encryption, password protection, content sharing with privacy, and restricting new participants in waiting room still a host allows them to join the conference.
  • We also migrated the customer’s existing meetings related data to Zoom’s cloud-based storage and made provisions to save additional information in the same secure data base–this would enable hasslefree referrals to relevant documents while making business decisions.

With Zoom, the customer was able to connect its geographically distant teams for regular and productivityenhancing conversations. Being a cloud-based service, it also controlled the total cost of ownership by avoiding licences from multiple vendors and the complexities of managing hardware-intensive solutions.

TTBS continues to provide round-the-clock tech support for optimal customer experience and ensures high uptime under a comprehensive SLA.
