Member of an India-based global hospitality network, the company owns and operates hotels while also supporting travel agencies’ services. It offers accommodation rooms, dining facilities, and fitness centre amenities at its guesthouses and vacation homes.
The organisation needed a more secure, reliable, and scalable network than what it had been using. The existing architecture had to be optimised to connect multiple locations more cohesively and maintain better uptime.
Tata Tele Business Services’ (TTBS) enterprise networking technologies are tailored for the digital age and eliminate the complexities of network administration with a managed services model. Such advantages persuaded the organisation to choose the brand for their connectivity solution.
Business Challenges
The customer aimed to bring its teams at different work locations on a secure and efficiently performing common network. They preferred a managed solution with an end-to-end SLA.
Some of the challenges with the existing setup were:
- The network infrastructure was partially dependent on the public cloud and raised security concerns. To counter cyber threats and ensure data privacy on the shared network, the team wanted to switch fully to the private cloud.
- Multiple vendors were providing the network and cloud application services. To avoid issues posed by this system, the organisation preferred a single service provider delivering solutions under an end-toend service level agreement (SLA).
- As the teams used high volumes of video data, efficient network uptime was a necessity. The customer preferred at least 99.5% uptime with SDWAN enablement.
Unable to focus on prime business operations due to poor and unreliable networks, the organisation required a solution that could be deployed in minimum turnaround time.
Since the public cloud infrastructure posed issues involving connectivity, no priority for video traffic, and low security levels, TTBS had to implement a tailored combination of technologies for network optimisation.
TTBS Solution
To give the organisation a point-to-multipoint connectivity solution, we deployed the Hub Connect service, which is an offering within our leased line portfolio.
- Hub Connect gave the customer a reliable, secure, and scalable channel to connect its multiple offices using one port, and use cloud platforms via privatised connectivity. It could build a private segment within the public cloud space and get dedicated access to all applications.
- We configured the hub configuration at Gurgaon while improving the network performance and security with MPLS. The organisation’s internet leased line (ILL) traffic could now be routed from the Gurgaon hub to all spoke locations over MPLS.
- Our engineers also provided an auto-failover option with SD-WAN through IPSec tunnelling.
With its OpEx model, our tailored solution also brought some cost savings for the customer. Additionally, the team got a customised network setup fully managed by a single service provider – TTBS.
We continue to ensure a minimum of 99.5% uptime of for the company and offer round-the-clock tech support services 365 days a year under a documented SLA.
As against conventional P2P network setups that need multiple ports to tether different business sites to a data centre, Hub Connect allowed multiple links to be connected through a single port. SD-WAN helped with traffic prioritisation for greater operational efficiency.
