TTBS SIP Trunk Solution Helps Consolidate Hospital’s Communication Infrastructure
Introduction
The customer is an established hospital offering general medicine, gynaecology, and surgery services at a well-furnished patient care facility. Based in a prominent area of Bangalore, the hospital is also within easy access for both locality residents and people from nearby towns.
The administration team approached Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) to modernise its communication setup. The idea was to add more agility and provide the hospital staff facilities for team collaboration and attending patients’ phone calls, even if they were working from home.
Business Challenges
To upgrade its existing communication infrastructure, the hospital wanted to digitalise the setup and make it future-ready.
- The telecommunication infrastructure had to be modernised by leveraging digital tools and solutions that would enable it to perform well for about a decade.
- Scalability of digital communication channels was also to be ensured while deploying the upgraded system.
- To thrive in the ‘new normal’, the hospital wanted to give its staff remote work abilities for handling non-clinical activities.
The hospital opted for digitalisation to make the telephony architecture more efficient, reliable, and long-lasting. After checking our solutions and the benefits they could bring for the organisation, the management chose TTBS to facilitate the migration from its legacy structure to a multimedia communications system.
TTBS Solution
A thorough analysis of the customer’s preferences and their telecommunication setup prompted the TTBS team to optimise their infrastructure using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) technology.
- As an internet-based solution, the protocol made it possible to deploy multiple channels on a single link.
- We offered the customer our SLA-backed Unlimited SIP Trunk connection plan that provides the flexibility for quick scaling up of call capacity in multiples of ten channels.
- The digitally-enabled SIP Trunk solution gave freedom to the staff to attend the hospital calls from their homes or any remote location.
- The deployment turned out to be a cost-effective solution with low CapEx. It did not involve elaborate equipment, and the cost of the minimal hardware used in the process was included in the contract.
Compared to legacy PRI systems, SIP offers better flexibility by connecting calls digitally using an internet connection. In addition to voice calls, SIP channels can also be used for transferring files. Such factors made it a more resourceful communication system for the hospital.
SIP Trunk was used to move the on-premise PBX system to the cloud and make it more agile for the hospital’s changing needs. It also helped them to get SLA-backed voice and data services from a single source.
Benefits
- SIP Trunk: Robust and long-term enterprise voice infrastructure built with minimum CapEx
- Employee mobility enhanced further with the option of routing calls to mobiles when necessary
- Ease of scalability in multiples of ten channels
- Unified communication system built by integrating voice, video, chat, and data services
- Work-from-home feasibility offered to employees for nonmedical services
- Instant return on investment with a noticeable difference between the PRI phone bills and monthly SIP plans
