Introduction

Headquartered in Maryland, US, and with its corporate offices in Mumbai, India, the organisation was founded to relieve medical service providers of their administrative tasks so they can focus better on their patients.

The key solutions include revenue cycle management, health prime analytics, and digitally-enabled processes that optimise medical practices. Working as a strategic partner for healthcare firms, the enterprise aims to proactively support physicians and their teams in delivering the highest quality healthcare services.

The organisation wanted to ensure that network issues do not mar its operations in serving its clients more efficiently. It needed a dedicated, high-speed internet connection for quick file sharing and usage of enterprise applications. Having procured other services from brand Tata earlier, the features of our Smart Internet – an advanced iteration of internet leased lines (ILL) – impressed them to choose Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) for the deployment.

Business Challenges

The company was working on a service level agreement (SLA) and had to abide consistently by the promised turnaround time for its customers. However, the existing internet service was fraught with multiple issues:

  • Operations were often affected by downtime errors, and the network speed was not enough to support multiple file uploads, downloads, and functioning of business applications throughout the day. As the workload increased, it became challenging for employees to use the internet for managing medical records and invoices.
  • Delays in sending updated documents to doctors also affected the timelines within which they had to be shared with the patients. This could ruin customer experiences if not resolved promptly.
  • The leadership team wanted to add more security to their online connectivity and their own permanent IP address on the web. Such facilities are not provided with standard broadband connections, necessitating the move to an enterprise-grade service.

Inability or delays in resolving these problems could have precipitated customer turnover as hospitals usually have plenty of vendors who can support them in administrative tasks.

TTBS had communicated the features and advantages of its upgraded ILL service – called Smart Internet – to the company. Its fast upload and download speeds, SLAbacked reliability, security, and ease of management were the top factors effectively meeting their requirements.

TTBS Solution

Our solution architects activated permanent carrier-grade point-to-point connectivity for the customer by deploying Smart Internet. Running directly between the TTBS network centre and their office, it was an uncontended connection with a dedicated bandwidth – the service was not shared with anyone else in the neighbourhood.

  • The ILL service was optimised by triple path redundancy, which meant that the organisation never had to worry about downtime. It benefitted from always-on digital connectivity with fast and symmetric upload and download speeds.
  • As a private line used exclusively by the customer, this ILL was also more secure than their previous internet service. We configured the router and firewall settings for smooth data transmission.
  • Authorised users working from home could also access the service, optimised with DNS-based cloud security and manageability for remote workers.

TTBS provided Smart Internet’s uninterrupted connectivity with an SLA for optimal performance, low latency, and minimal packet loss. The network was scalable to accommodate future requirements.

The organisation’s workforce noticed significant improvements in network speeds. Using cloud-based applications and sharing data with customers became easier, and the ILL gave them their own static IP address on the web.
